About this product.
This series of light bulb type was something that was developed to replace higher wattage halogen, and it could be a product which you could handle with your bare hands. One of the cautions that the old halogen type had was that touching the glass would cause it to fail early, which was true. The glass used for that would react with the skin oils in your hands and would often fail before rated life was over. Not only is this type of bulb something you can handle with your hands, but it also has a krypton xenon gas fill which causes the filament to burn with bright white light. It’s an improvement over the older style halogen. This makes it a perfect accent lighting for indoor situations, especially bathrooms which were often specified. Even though it’s commonly used for interiors, it can be used in both indoor and outdoor spaces depending on the light fixture you have. It’s easy to install just like the halogen that you might be replacing.

Saving money.
When thinking about energy savings, this is a suitable replacement for those halogen lights that you may have had before. And these will deliver energy efficiency and long life while still maintaining the more significant effect you desire. We do have LED options that will save you even more energy and for some people that would be an excellent way to go. If you want to know how much you can save by switching to either an LED or the xenon light bulb itself, we have a free spreadsheet for download on the left-hand column of our website. You can input your actual watts and the product that you’re looking at as a replacement and see precisely how much energy you’re going to save and what kind of payback you could get. There’s never been a better time to see how much money you can that in your electric bill by merely switching to more efficient light bulbs. And even though all of these will give you the savings you want, it will also maintain the look of your indoor space. We often say that if you save all the energy possible but the result doesn’t look good, you haven’t saved anything. It’s better that a job gets done correctly and looks good for an aesthetic appeal or considerations like business productivity if you use something like this in that type of environment.

The color of light makes a difference.
The light color is always a consideration when looking at doing something with xenon light bulbs as they are slightly whiter than the halogen you might be replacing. Now it could be that you are merely doing a replacement for existing ones that you have and so you can expect to get the same color of light that you had before. These lights create a warm color appearance, probably something very close to soft white to a more neutral white color. What you will notice regardless of the color is how crisp the light looks and that’s something that’s hard to get any other way. Even though some LED can give you greater energy savings, the effect will be quite the same as xenon. This is especially important if you’re using these in a bathroom which a lot of applications for this happened to be. It’s been chosen for that kind of an application because it does so well with skin tones, but it doesn’t give too much yellow in the spectrum.

Get the right one.
One of the issues that we run across quite a bit with this light bulb is that people get the base wrong. The reason that happens is because people don’t know the difference between a and E12 candelabra base and an E11 mini candelabra base. And sometimes these can even be hard to tell for people who are in the industry, they are that close in size, but there are a couple of things that you could recognize that would give you a clue as to which one you have. First of all you want to make sure that whatever part number or label that you have will say either E12 or something like E11 MC. That is the most precise way to define precisely what you have and the best way. If you don’t show any code product designation on the product, then you have to look at things like the threads themselves. The E12 base is the same size as chandelier light bulbs with the small base, and it has larger threads then its close cousin the E11 Minican. The E11 MC base has tiny threads on the base, and it definitely will feel loose in any chandelier type socket. If you are unsure as to which one you have by looking at it, give us a call and we can help walk you through it. It often helps if we have a picture of it and from that we can determine what it is very quickly. You can always email us a copy of that picture or text us whichever you prefer. We want to make sure you get the right one, so there’s not this back and forth between us which saves us both time in getting you the right product.

Special quantity pricing.
If you’re looking for a larger quantity of these, you can always call us for special pricing. We would be talking about something that would be a multiple case quantity which typically has 24 lamps per case. We want to make sure that you’re not only getting the best quality xenon but also at a great price. We only sell quality products; we don’t buy cheap imports. We want to make sure you have products that have stood the test of time and that we’ve seen used by many customers with great success. This is a type of light that has been sold cheaply in the past, and many people were disappointed when they purchase them from a big box store. You may think that they’re all the same, but they’re not. There is a difference in quality from what you might get at a large retailer in the products we carry. We strive to get the products that are going to last a long time and not cause any problems for you in the future. Of course, all products like this have a rated life and at some point need to be replaced.

An intense light.
The bottom line for this lamp is that it creates the perfect light for situations where you need a white light, but something that’s a little bit softer. Most of the time, these are behind a white piece of plastic or some other kind of obstruction that will soften the intense filament that it has. It is a very intense light, and that filament is going to give you dots of light if you don’t have it adequately shielded. When people use these in pendant lighting, the shade itself shields you from that. It breaks up the light properly, so you don’t see this very harsh filament like any xenon or halogen light bulb. We never see these used in an open light fixture with the bulb shining out everywhere unless it’s something that is some decorative element where that intense light is needed to bring some kind of sparkle to either a chandelier or some other type of specialized lighting.
