There are several different brands that most people associate with this type of light, Philips linear fluorescent, GE Lighting, Osram Sylvania as well as many other quality brands. They all function the same way and electrically are the same so that you can use them interchangeably. The only thing that might vary slightly is the phosphor color on occasion. For example, a cool white 4100K in one brand will look the same in another for general lighting purposes. But for some people that have particular needs that 4100K from one brand to another may be slightly different and affect their choice. Most of the time these are all made to the same specifications, so the color temperatures are suitable regardless of the brand you choose.
