General information.
At BuyLightFixtures.com, we want you to have the best quality LED vapor tight lights that deliver excellent lighting performance as well as significant energy savings. In the past, many people had fluorescent strip lights that were sealed in a unit, and they worked great. But now you can get the energy savings that you want with LED vapor tight lights that brings it to a whole new level. You not only get excellent light output, usually better than the fluorescents from the past but generally, you will save 75 percent in electrical cost for your lighting. This will make a high impact on lowering your electric bill for your facility whether it’s commercial industrial, agricultural or any area where wash down is required. You’ll also see these used in car wash operations because of the sealed nature of the light. And because LED has a higher light output than previous fluorescents, you can genuinely replace HID lights were used in that type of application for many years.

Made to stay dry inside.
These are a wet location rated lights meaning that they can take direct water contact without water getting inside the lights. The seals are made from materials that prevent water from seeping in any way. This ensures you’re going to get many years of reliable performance for your lighting dollar. This type of lights is had several different names in the past, and it could be something like vapor proof lights, vapor proof lights or vapor tight installations. No matter what you call it, it’s the same thing, a sealed light which can be used in a wet location area. Because they use the latest LED lighting technology which is improving vastly over the past several years, you’re going to get the best energy-efficient lighting possible for your application. These are designed to replace either fluorescent lighting or HID lighting as stated before, so if you have older lights that have run their course, it may be a good time to consider new lights at a very reasonable cost. Most of the vapor lighting choices we have are typically anywhere from 50,000 hours to 70,000 hours in rated life. For many facilities that means that they’re going to get something like 10 to 20 years to use depending on how many hours a day they are on. There’s almost no limit as to where these can be used; the applications are endless because many people need this type of light in severe environments and very wet environments. It could be airports, tunnels, maintenance areas, parking areas as well as the traditional food production facility. And speaking of food production, this is one of the most common lights used in that type of facility is everything has to be washed down on a regular basis, often nightly. These lights will meet all those requirements in a USDA facility keeping everything well lit while the polycarbonate lens prevents any breakage to the fixture that cannot be tolerated. If you need detailed specifications for any of these lights, we can send you a PDF file and then you can view the spec sheet at your leisure. Just drop us an email, and we can return it with the specifications and make sure that it’s going to meet your requirements.

Color makes the room.
Another consideration that people need to take into account when changing over to new LED vapor tight lights is color temperature. Sometimes people think it’s not that important then they will say that you can give me whatever you feel is best, but we don’t like to do that. It’s an individual choice whether you want something that’s going to have a warmer color appearance or something that’s going to be a cooler color. And a personal preference can reflect on how well office functions. You want to make sure that people are pleased with the color of light if you don’t have that you’ll get people grumbling and may be using it as an excuse for not getting things done. Typically the warmer color is something around 3000K; cool white is about 4100K and daylight is 5000K. Most people that use these in a home might be looking at something that would be the warmer color temperature because it works so well with different kinds of earth tones you may have in a house. A lot of businesses though prefer the 5000K daylight color because it’s so good with black and white contrast, reading and visual acuity. These are all things that will help people be more productive.
