Some general information.
At, we supply some of the latest LED technology for track lighting available today. These are primarily various types of LED track lights that can be used with different designated brand track lighting. There are generally two main types of track lighting, that which is Juno compatible and the other that is Halo compatible. The Juno version is a single circuit track, and the Halo brand is a two circuit track. Most brands of track adhere to these standards because so many people have used these in the past and there such a large installed base of these. So these track heads that we have available can be used on one or the other, and you have to order it accordingly. We explicitly describe which track it is compatible. This is one of those areas of lighting that really can take advantage of LED in a significant way. Not only do you get excellent energy savings, but you also get an extremely long life which is something that was always lacking in certain types of track heads. When they were dominated by halogen, the heat was still the problem, and that was what caused some of the bulbs to have a shortened life. It would also sometimes affect the actual transformers themselves if it was a 12-volt system, causing those to go out too soon. Typically a lot of retail stores have used this type of lighting, and they can get a lot of energy savings because they’re burning them all day long. But one of the other benefits is not having to replace light bulbs all the time which can get costly and becomes a maintenance issue. In something like a retail application, if you want to make sure that the lights stay on all the time for the products that you had to sell. We had customers in the past that used to complain about how short life the halogens were that they were buying from somewhere else, so we steer them to the very long life halogen. That would solve one problem, but energy consumption was still an issue.

Saving money is always good.
If you want to know exactly how much you could save by going to a more efficient LED track lighting system, we have an effortless way for you to discover how much you’ll save. On the left-hand column of our website, we have a free downloadable Excel spreadsheet which gives you an energy savings calculation. All you have to do is input some of the existing data from your current lighting system such as watts, how many hours a day you’re going to run them and the data from one of our light fixtures that you’re looking to purchase. It will give you a close and accurate energy savings calculation and how much money you’ll save by making the switch to LED. It will even tell you how fast the payback will be in months or years. The payback time is that amount which is required for the energy savings to pay for the cost of the lighting system. So it will give you a good idea as to how much money you’ll save and then how to budget for your new lighting. Keep in mind that there are a lot of electric utility rebates and incentives for going to more efficient lighting like this. They want you to reduce your energy consumption especially during high demand parts of the day when demand is pushed to the maximum. This can also reduce that payback time significantly depending on the kind of rebate that you have. There’s never been a better time to take a look at saving energy by getting new LED track lighting, especially if you’re a retail store or large public area that utilizes a lot of track lights.

Make sure you get good lighting.
Good lighting is still the goal of any upgrade that you might make. Although energy savings is important, you won’t save your way into great prosperity; you still need to make sure that sales and productivity are at the maximum. That’s why we often say if you save all the energy possible, but the lighting job is weak, you haven’t saved anything, it probably cost you something. So making sure that you get the best possible lighting when doing an upgrade like this is essential for your operation whether it’s an office or something like we talked about, a retail store. One of the ways the track lighting is used by highlighting specific areas of the store or space to make a statement with light. One of the things we learned a long time ago was that there was a particular ratio of specialized display in retail that should be lit at a 5 to 1 ratio over the rest of the area lighting for the store. In other words, the light on any unique display where you want to get the customers attention should be five times as bright in footcandles as the general lighting in the store. That’s going to draw their eye to this location and probably move traffic to that location as well. That’s why you’ll see a lot of retail stores using certain kinds of track along those display walls or individual areas in different parts of the store. So if you’re thinking about energy efficiency and saving that money, also think about getting the excellent lighting that you need that’s going to improve your situation over what you have now. It’s a golden opportunity to get it done right while at the same time you’re saving energy.

The option of LED track lighting packs.
One of the other beautiful things that we have available with our LED track lights is that they’re not necessarily just sold individually, but we also have track lighting packs which are three LED track heads and a four-foot length of the track. It comes as a complete mini system, and this is what people often use in something like a home lighting application. It’s effortless to implement and install, and it’s a perfect way to bring track lighting to an area without a lot of hassle. Of course, you could always add other track heads to those links, and you can get very creative with how to use good track lighting.
