High Pressure Sodium Ballast Kits
High pressure sodium (HPS) ballasts regulate the electrical current in a high pressure sodium light bulb. It controls the amount of power that flows through the bulb and helps to start and maintain the arc within the bulb that produces light. HPS ballasts are specifically designed for use with high pressure sodium lamps, which are commonly used for street lighting and industrial lighting applications. Without a ballast, a HPS bulb would not work properly.
