They all have excellent lumen output and will operate on any manufacturer’s electronic ballast whether it’s an instant start or a rapid start type. The color temperatures that you can get our everything from a 2700K warm white, a 3000K soft white, 4100K cool white and probably the most popular which is the 5000K daylight white version. The reason most people like that one the best is because it creates light the way our eyes naturally use it. We can read better under this type of light, and we have a better contrast between black and white making it perfect for an office lighting situation. But it’s not only made for offices; these can be used anywhere you need a four-foot T8 tube. If you have these in a manufacturing facility or a warehouse, you know how effective this can be to getting the right kind of light for people so they can be more productive in their work. Good lighting does make a difference as to how productive people can be at their job. This type of research has been done for many years and maintaining a good lighting system by replacing the light bulbs at regular intervals is a good idea.

Mostly used in task lighting.
In commercial buildings, these are often used for task lighting, and it’s used in conjunction with the four-foot lamp that is used almost everywhere. Most of the time the new light fixtures were installed with the 3 foot F25T8 and the 2 foot F17T8 lamps, but it’s the shorter 24-inch size that was used in cubicles and task lighting. This made it possible to use less overhead lighting and use more localized light which reduced energy consumption. It was part of a lighting solution that continues to this day with the advent of LED lights. The idea is to have a slightly lower general lighting and then have task lighting pick up with brighter light for finer work. In this way, people have control of their lighted environment and can make it the most comfortable for them. It’s an excellent way to save energy, and for those of you who need the lamp as a replacement part, then we have these in all the different configurations for your specialized application. We have access to a stock of thousands of these type of lights so are probably going to have the one that works in your situation whether it’s under cabinet lighting or in a cubicle situation. If you have a larger commercial building and you’re looking at changing these out on a regular basis, call us for special quantity pricing for group relamping, and we can get you a better price than just a less than case quantity. These do come in cases of 30 typically, and they come with all the different grades of phosphor that you may need for a specialized application. If you use these in retail lighting or something with the display, we have higher grade phosphors for people that need a better color rendition. This can be very important when you’re talking about color differentiation for displays such as paint color, interior colors or retail lighting. We want to make sure that the color that people see in your store would be the same as when they get it home.

Saving money on energy feels good.

For those of you who are unsure as to how to rewire it, we do sell prewired socket retrofit's that you could put in a fixture and replace the existing wiring. Slight variations on brands.
There are several different brands that most people associate with this type of light, Philips linear fluorescent, GE Lighting, Osram Sylvania as well as many other quality brands. They all function the same way and electrically are the same so that you can use them interchangeably. The only thing that might vary slightly is the phosphor color on occasion. For example, a cool white 4100K in one brand will look the same in another for general lighting purposes. But for some people that have particular needs that 4100K from one brand to another may be slightly different and affect their choice. Most of the time these are all made to the same specifications, so the color temperatures are suitable regardless of the brand you choose.
