Circline FC8T9 Ballast
Circline FC8T9 ballasts for several the circular lamps that are rated at 22 watts. They are a 120 volt ballast made to start the lamp and maintain the operation. These are used in many different kinds of lighting fixtures, most often on wall or ceiling mounted lighting fixtures. Easy to change and comes with the 4 pin connector to the lamp. This is probably the most common type of circline bulb and it's most commonly used in low-profile circular drum type lighting fixtures. And like any other fluorescent, the ballast does go out on occasion and it needs to be replaced. It would be considered a consumable item within the lighting fixture itself. If your lamp is not coming on or is doing a lot of flickering, or has blackened ends on the lamp, then you probably need to replace the ballast. This should take care of all the problems that you're having with lighting it and performance. It comes attached with the wires and the connection to an existing light socket.
