Light distribution:

Maxlite DiscMAX post top light fixture is a sleek, specification-grade solution for lighting pathways, parking areas and other outdoor spaces. Available in 80W or 115W, with Type III and V distributions, it replaces 175W-400W HID luminaires with exceptional longevity and efficiency. This has an extra level of style that many post top lights don't have while still delivering excellent lighting for many different types of parking areas, secured areas, apartment complexes and commercial buildings. Saving energy is great but only if you can get the type of light fixture that will have just the look you need for the exterior you have. These fit right on the post top and can be used in many types of outdoor lighting situations. For those of you who want something with a higher degree of style, this is probably the outdoor LED light fixture that you might want. It takes advantage of all the advancements in LED technology over the past several years and incorporates them into a light fixture that isn't as bulky as the older types in HID. This particular version will replace up to a 400 watt metal halide or high-pressure sodium so you're going to get excellent energy savings and fast paybacks. And even with the new LED design, it's still going to stand up to the elements with bronze powdercoat finish so it's going to look great for many years to come. It has a five-year warranty that will protect you from any early failure, and we stand behind these lighting products because we know that they're going to perform well for you over time. This is just a great look, something that's a little more modern and takes advantage of the way LEDs are changing light fixture design. If you have any questions as to how this would work in your situation, we can help you with some calculations and also see that if it would work with any existing lighting poles you have now. If some of you are wondering what the difference is between a type III in a type V distribution, the type V distribution is a square pattern and evenly in every direction. The type III is an elongated pattern that is often used for streetlighting and it throws up and down the boulevard or street. So depending on what kind of lighting job you have, you would choose accordingly. Most parking lots and secure areas would probably use the type V distribution, but for those of you who have street side lighting, then type III probably makes sense for lighting up the roadway better.
