Halogen Light Sockets - Double End - Short
Halogen light sockets - double end - short at 78mm length are made from porcelain and work with 3" inch halogen lamps in almost any kind of application. These also have two wire leads for connecting convenience of the socket itself. There are many creative ways to incorporate these into fixtures or new lighting design along with using them to replace sockets in a torchiere. This is the kind of socket that used for very high wattage applications which is usually the halogen type lamp. These are the bulbs that have ceramic ends and a glass tube which contains the filament. Because of the high amount of heat, the sockets can get a little toasty over time and need to be replaced. Sometimes the wiring becomes a little brittle and that may make it no longer usable. This is typically for a torch lamp and that’s what most people buy these for. Even though this could be used with any number of halogen lighting fixtures, that would be the most common.
