Halogen Light Socket - G8 8mm Base
Halogen light socket - G8 8mm base are made from porcelain and work with MR16 halogen lamps along with many other bipin lamps. These would include G8 and G8.6 bases. These also have two wire connector leads for connecting convenience of the MR16 round sockets. There are many creative ways to incorporate these into fixtures or new lighting design. These are also sometimes called a lamp holder for this type of halogen lighting. Because of the heat that these generate usually within some form of track lighting, they deteriorate and they have to be replaced. But these just art for halogen only, you can use LED bulbs for these as well. It doesn’t matter the pin spacing is exactly the same and because you’re putting in an LED, the wattage will be lower. The connector base is just simply a push in type that can work for LED, halogen or anything that has this to pin connection.
