It's an easy retrofit that comes with better light with included reflector. It's an easy retrofit that eliminates the need for long, cumbersome 8 foot lamp to more convenient 4 foot. The electronic ballast is so reliable that they have a 5-year warranty and can operate lamps for much longer. It saves 30 watts simply by converting 8 foot T12 slimline lamps to T8's. For some people who are going to be retrofitting things like recessed lighting in some existing housing for a home, a lot of them prefer a warmer color light such as a 2700K color.
