Price: $73.61
Item #: BLF118820

70W HPS ballasts to replace existing core and coil ballasts. These are for standard HPS lamps and have everything you need to replace your failed ballast. You get everything you see here to make a complete repair. The core and coil and ignitor with a schematic diagram. These come in multitap voltage of 120, 208, 240, 277 volts and 480 volts in some cases. These will work with GE, Sylvania, or any other HPS lamp. HPS ballasts are the proper replacement when a simple lamp change yields no result. Known for dependability and superior efficiency, our High Intensity Discharge (HID) ballasts are ideally suited for even the most demanding HID lighting applications. There's a simple way to know whether you have a bad bulb or the ballast is going out. Some people think that when the HPS bulb cycles on and off that the ballast may be going bad. That is not the case, it just means that the bulb needs to be replaced. But if you see that the lights not coming on at all, then you need to do a ballast replacement. So keep that in mind as it will save you a lot of money and time of not having to replace the ballast in that situation. But if the light's dead after you've replaced the bulb, then you need to replace the ballast. These HPS ballasts come with everything you need including the hardware to remount the ballast within the lighting fixture that you have now. It doesn’t come with the sodium lamp howe'ver, that needs to be purchased separately. Some of the most common wattages that are used today are the 250 watts, 400 watts and 1000 watt. These are most often used in commercial outdoor lighting applications and is typical for many types of industrial applications. Lighting up in HID system is much different than fluorescent bulbs or LED. It requires a very high voltage to get the arc started and needs to have good regulation for proper operation.
