12 volt incandescent bulbs are an incandescent source and are the same size as regular household incandescent bulbs. This means you can use these in a 12-volt circuit to get the light you need whether it be holiday lighting or RV or marine application. Many times people want to have the look of a regular light bulb but in a 12-volt version. It's a classic look that is still the most popular light bulb style ever invented. When running low voltage lighting, people are usually trying to power exterior light fixtures and avoid the hassle of 120-volt power. With 12 volt incandescent bulbs, they can have all those benefit's of good lighting and still use this type of A19 lamp. These have a standard household light bulb base, and they can be used in nearly any fixture as long as it has a 12 V rating. If you happen to screw these into a 120 V socket, they will flesh out in a second, and you'll have a dead bulb. So you don't want to do that and make sure that you have the correct voltage feeding that light. You do get a choice of watts, and that includes everything from a 25 watt up to 100 watts. These are rated for 2000 hours, and so you're going to get a decent life at a low cost, and it will do the job for nearly any primary lighting application.

Product features:

General information.
At, we have the most extensive variety of 12 volt incandescent bulbs available in the market today. Although this category is just a sampling of the most common types that we run into, we have many more in various halogen, LED and incandescent. So if you don’t see it here, we probably have it in a different category which is based on the type of light bulb it is. If you can’t find it, will help you with the product number you can email or call us and we’ll get that to you. Because the pervasiveness of low-voltage lighting systems, 12-volt bulbs will continue to be used in many types of lighting.

Landscape lighting and more.
One of the most common that people are very familiar with is landscape lighting or outdoor lighting. If you have a landscape lighting scheme and you’re looking for replacement lamps for that, many of these DC 12v bulbs are available for that type of application. Often with that type of landscape situation, people will have outdoor posts that are also fed by low-voltage power. One of the ways that you’ll know whether it is or not if you’re unsure is that when you put a regular voltage light bulb in it, it barely glows. You’ll see that it’s not glowing brightly at all and that’s when you know that that’s been also connected some low-voltage lighting. Another way to identify whether you need these type of bulbs is whether your outdoor lighting has a transformer or not. If it does, you need to take a look at it and see what voltage is being fed along those lines.

Saving money is fun.
Of course, landscape lights aren’t the only place that these incandescent bulbs are used because we have many different kinds of undercabinet G4 base lighting that use low-voltage, display lighting, and track lighting. We do see it once in a while and recessed lights but not as often, most of the time those are line voltage. And in situations like this, we have many different 12v LED lamps for that kind of replacement needs as well. It’s a good time to think about making a switch from halogen low-voltage to something like an LED. You can get either a warm white or bright LEDs with daylight white light which is going to use less power. It’s not only about energy savings, but you’re also going to get what we believe is better lighting as a result. If you are curious as to how much you can save in real dollars, we do have an energy-saving calculation spreadsheet on the left-hand column of our website which is a free download. It gives you all the information you need to know by putting in data about your current system and what it would be with an LED energy-efficient bulb. A lot of times people get paybacks that are very fast, and it all depends on how they use it and the kilowatt hour cost that you may have in your area. Keep in mind that many electric utilities have rebate programs where you can get some incentives for going to light fixtures or incandescent bulbs that you purchase from us. There’s never been a better time to take a look at saving energy and getting better lighting at the same time.

Color is critical.
One of the things that you need to be considering when you’re thinking about going to something that’s more efficient in a 12 volt LED light bulb is the color temperature. Color temperature is vital to get your lighting right, and a lot depends on the kind of interior space you have or what kind of effect you’re trying to get outdoors. If you want something that looks like an incandescent color, then you need to use something that’s closer to a 2700K light color. It has that warm, inviting color that many people associate with home and has that look that most people want. If you want something that’s closer to a daylight white LED, then you want to something like the 5000K which has a much cooler light something that’s similar to noontime daylight. It’s all a matter of personal preference, but keep in mind that certain types of interiors go better with certain kinds of light color. The light color that you use can even change the way the paint on the walls look, so keep that in mind when you’re choosing a new light of some kind of low voltage.

Some stuff about low voltage.
After reading this, some of you may be thinking all I want to do is replace the light bulb that I have, and that’s great. We carry an ample supply of all these different types of 12-volt bulbs. We want to make sure that you do get the best quality of this type of lighting because it’s a type that can be a little more susceptible to power surges and things like that. That’s why it’s important to have something is going to be able to stand up under what is sometimes not very well regulated voltages. We’ve seen some people that have voltages ranging anywhere from 10 volts up to 13 volts. Sometimes these transformers don’t put out a consistent voltage, and that becomes an issue on occasion. It’s part of the troubleshooting process with low-voltage lighting which can be a little tricky at times. Regardless of whether you have it in landscaping or you might have it in an interior, it tends to be a little more twitchy when it comes to proper operation. Line voltage always seems to work better because it’s coming straight off the grid at a very regulated rate.

More than just incandescent bulbs.
But if you are considering doing something more energy-efficient with a light fixture that’s 12 volts, we can help you with that too as we have a complete line of light fixtures for a low-voltage application. So if you’re thinking about doing something more energy-efficient and you’re already going to be investing in some types of replacements, or the lighting system you have is very old, it could be an excellent time to consider going to some new light fixtures. And the light fixtures that are available today are much better than they were even a few years ago when it comes to something like LED. The quality is gone up significantly, and people are now seeing the benefit of getting excellent lighting for the least amount of wattage. It’s often an aesthetic upgrade to, where the form of the light fixture will be a much-improved look rather than the older types that were somewhat blocky and functional.
