Silver bowl light bulbs have been used for a long time in situations where a reduction in offensive glare is an issue. There are some light fixtures that come with an indirect light source like a silver bowl light bulb which will give a softer appeal and less light in the eyes of patrons or users. These come in either 60 or 100 watt versions and can be used anywhere regular light bulbs are being used. They are an excellent choice in any place where you don't want to have direct light but rather an indirect source. These are much easier on the eyes and it's something that you may want to consider for a bathroom, restaurant or home use that could use some shielding. Most of the time these are used it in the inverted position as seen in this picture.
