R16 flood light bulbs have been used in many small fixture applications. The R16 is two inches across the face of the reflector. The medium base is the same size as a standard light bulb base. You'll usually find these in curio or display cabinets but is also used in certain recessed light fixtures that have a smaller opening. These were also branded at one time as a Z9 bulb but most people know it most commonly as a 40R16 reflector flood. R16 flood light bulbs are still a good way to light a display or recessed lighting situation.
