Metal Halide Capacitor

Metal halide capacitors for ballasts are often needed to replace ones that have gone bad. The capacitor aids in the igniting of the arcstream of the metal halide lamp. These come in ratings for specific wattages and you need to have the one for the wattage you have in your fixture. Sometimes all you need to do is replace the metal halide capacitor and not the whole ballast kit.
