First of all, you need to know what the wattages are and usually that's listed somewhere on the base. You also need to know what the voltages are and most of the time it's 120 or 130 volt. Some people choose the 130 volt version because it will actually protect against voltage spikes and cause the lamp to last a little bit longer. The other thing to keep in mind is the base. They could be the same wattage, but they have a different base as was mentioned before. So if you have the base correct and the wattage plus the voltage, you'll be able to select the right one.
