MR16 long life halogen light bulbs of high quality and 10,000 hour life.

Many people have long believed that MR16 lamps were only available in the short life version.  Because of the limitations of the great light they give, it was believed that only a shorter lifespan was available and that means people would have to go up and down on ladders more often than they wanted to. But now MR16 lamps are available in a 10,000 hour version which will make those days a thing of the past.  You will have five times the life of a standard MR16 and that means you'll save money and time when purchasing and changing them.  It's been a recent innovation in MR16 lamp technology, but it's catching on quickly and more people are finding out that it works great for their home or their office and retail situation.

For right now the MR16 long life halogen light bulbs only come in the 12 volt version.  And that may not be desirable for many applications where you might have 120 volt or 24 volt, but for right now the most common application is the low voltage version.  This is a great lamp for a retail application or a store may have hundreds of these throughout.  Think about all the money that you can save by not having to purchase bulb so often at all the time you'll save by not having people going up and down and changing these as often as they used to.  This has been one of the things that people don't like about these lamps and now they can get long life in these as well as regular incandescent lights. Unlike incandescent light, these MR16 long life halogen light bulbs still have a great light output and a great color rendition. So you won't have to sacrifice light to get great long life out of these bulbs.  These also fit exactly where you're old style MR16 lamps do, so you won't have to make any changes to your fixtures, or at your lighting scheme.

It can be a little confusing as there are so many different variations of these lamps, but MR16 halogen light bulbs are very distinct between the different types.  Always remember the things that matter the most are the wattage, the beam spread and the pin configuration.  If you know these things then you can determine easily which one that you have right now.  All of them come with a dichroic coating which allows for better light output and heat that goes out the back of the lamp. Many people think that MR16 halogen light bulbs can only be used indoors.  They can be used outdoors as well and are in many landscape lighting situations.  These typically include light fixtures that we have that our landscape floodlights.  The precise beams of these lamps make it an ideal choice for getting the light where you need it in uplighting and general highlighting. Many times you think that you might have a regular floodlight in a landscape fixture, you really have an MR16 lamp as part of the configuration.

Expect that these MR16 long life halogen light bulbs will have more variations in the future.  Right now they're only available in a flood version with 50 watts as the standard.  But for most applications that use floodlights, this is just fine and you can design a scheme where you can use your flood lighting with these extra long life MR16's and do some of your highlighting with smaller beam spreads with standard ones.  You can get creative to extend the life of your whole lighting system and make things easier on yourself in the process.  It doesn't matter if you're a business or home, these longer life halogen light bulbs make sense for almost anyone who doesn't like to change light bulbs.
