Energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures that will help your bottom line with better lighting.

Just when you thought that the most efficient lights were pulse start metal halide, along come energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures that rival almost anything on the market today.  Not only are these becoming an alternative to HID lighting, they are also many building owners or homeowners first choice in high or low bay lighting. With T5 lamps in columns of 10, 6 or 4 lamps, you can get the same amount of light as some HID systems. They have a longer life and greater energy efficiency plus the light will be more consistent over time. That is, the color shift will be less pronounced than many types of arc lighting has today.  There are often utility rebate programs will partially subsidize the cost of these, so you may want to check with your local electric utility. They are usually mandated by the government to have programs that help businesses and homes save energy.

When thinking about using energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures, there are now many types to choose from that you might need for your application.  There are high bay and low bay types of fixtures and depending on the mounting height, that will make a difference in what you should choose.  High bay lights are ideal for indoor applications where ceiling mounting heights exceed 20 feet. Typical applications include warehouse facilities, assembly areas, gyms, hangars, transportation garages, loading and staging areas. The low bay fluorescent lights are ideal from 20 feet and below. High bay fixtures work well in storage to spread light so you can see the tops of racks filled with product.  When you select the ones you want from our online store, you will need to let us know what voltage you'll need.

Some of the energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures we stock are low bay industrial.  Low bay lighting is ideal for indoor applications where ceiling mounting heights 20 feet or less. That's probably the area where these fixtures really excel.  The nature of fluorescent lighting makes them a broad flood effect which can be great for many lower applications.  In the past, people often used inefficient 8 foot fixtures because there were no other alternatives.  Now there are and some typical applications include warehouse facilities, low assembly areas, home garages, loading and staging areas. Unlike high bay lights, low bay lights spread light down and out the sides of the fixture.  All of these units have a protective cover which will keep them from getting damaged or the possibility of fluorescent lamps breaking and falling to the floor.

For most building owners or even homeowners, the white light of energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures are the preferred option of light.  You get to choose exactly the color you want while getting energy efficiency.  There are even choices of full spectrum lighting in some of the lamp versions used in this fixture, particularly the T8 lamps.  People generally like this white light to work or play under, as opposed to some other colors available.  The photometry of these fixtures are excellent making it possible to use fewer fixtures in a space to properly light it.  Some new buildings have this kind of energy efficient lighting specified at the design stages, but many older buildings don't and then it's a retrofit situation.  That's really no problem as these will work great in either case.  Please give us a call if you have any questions about these or any other products that we carry and of course you can click on the button above to order them online now.
