400 watt mercury vapor light bulbs are a light source that has an arc tube operating on a ballast specific for this lamp. It's an older style of light and metal halide has replaced it as the preferred source of white light for warehouses, gymnasiums or any place a lot of light is desired. If you're just replacing these, we keep this 400 watt version in stock with the deluxe white coating. The mogul base is larger than a household light bulb base and this is available for replacement only. 400 watt mercury vapor light bulbs are one of the most common types available but are not available in new light fixtures anymore.
